Globalization Means Cambodia Needs a great Diplomacy

The past ten years have marked Cambodia's integration into regional, international organizations and other inter-governmental organizations; just to name a few: Asean (Association for South East Asian Nations), Afta (Asian Free Trade Area), Wto (World Trade Organization), Ilo (International Labour Organization), etc (I do not count other organzations that we have been members long ago). Cambodia's membership with regional and international organizations ranks from economics to politics. Indeed, countless certain points: economic growth, poverty reduction, human reserved supply development, etc, together with certain collective defects: gaps in the middle of the rich and poor, the employed and the unemployed, and unequal growth in the middle of cities and rural areas, etc, have been seen from this globalization aspect.

Cambodia is urgently needing one tool to survive in the globalization: ability Diplomacy.

News From Cambodia

History has presented that Cambodia rarely had good relations with the neighbouring countries and international relations with other far-reaching countries almost never existed, plus its protracted warfare, Cambodia does need to boost its diplomacy and not just plain diplomacy, but "quality" diplomacy to benefit from globalization.

So what does "diplomacy" means? Not referring to the gentle theories, written by world celebrated legal publicists, in my personal sense and opinion, diplomacy means "Negotiation skill for national interests". Because of Cambodia's unacceptable gentle history, gift non-existence of gentle schooling in the undergraduate or graduate schools, lack of diplomacy and international-relation specialists, how can Cambodia diplomats abroad argue for Cambodia's national interests.

Drawing from all above facts, without delays, Cambodia is currently in need of ability diplomacy. This paper would serve as "revealing fact, rather than initiating problem-solution."
