Government's openness to direct foreign venture has manifested influx of garment factories, which for half a decade, draws the most wage to the government's financial store house. Simultaneously, countless conflicts in range of dimensions have plainly appeared in the middle of the employees and employers.
Due to entrance to better education, public networkings as well as financial privileges of the employers' sides, trade unions and union federations have been established to address the injustice of the employees. The point of trade union preparation is very positive, however, this certain point has so far turned negative, when it becomes too much and best of all, most of the trade unions and union federations have no capacity and willingness in addressing the interests of the employees.
News From Cambodia
Having worked as a schedule officer of labor schedule for an Ngo, I have come to liaise with dissimilar trade unions and union federations. Resulting from these liaisons, I have come to know that all most all trade unions and union federations have no capacities and willingness to sass to the employees' interests at all; most of them see trade unions or union federations just as transitional path to better opportunities.
We need just a few better trade unions and union federations, not too many like this. And I see no point in this dramatic quantity. Despite government's openness to establishment, trade unions and union federations itself, its stakeholders, and the donors shall take measures to push for their capacities and willingness, not just mere trade unions and union federations. Finally, we do need to see trade unions, union federations and non-government entities free from any political affiliation and private interests.
